'Cos I'm Mr. Brightside

Top: Topshop
Shorts: Peacocks
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Dorothy Perkins

I wore this out on Friday night with a couple of my besties. This studded top from Toppers is my fave but I'm always scared of ripping the studs off. As always, it was a great night!

I've had the most full on but lovely weekend. Saturday me and the boyfriend chilled in the garden and went out for an Indian on the night. Today it was still super warm and sunny so we went to Bewdly for chips and sweets by the river. Then we caught up with some of his mates at a bbq. Such a calorie filled weekend - oops!

I hope this weather stays till next weekend, being cooped up in an office all week is pants in the summer! Hope you've all enjoyed the sunshine!

Daisy Dukes, Bikini's on top: Shorts Haul!

Now I've booked my summer holiday & festivals I've started shopping and discovered a new obsession - I love shorts! I posted a while ago about my amazing aztec print shorts and now I've brought some more!

First I snapped up these mint green & white striped shorts from New Look. They're a bit shorter than I'd normally wear but I'm hoping by the time I'm on holiday/at a festival I won't care! These were £20.

As soon as I saw these on MissGuided.co.uk I HAD to have them. The Topshop version were out of my price range but these were really affordable. I'm fully in love with them. These are the Coralyn shorts and you can shop them here and here.

I had no intention of buying any more shorts but when MissGuided ran a Twitter competition to win these Merill shorts I entered on my lunch break and thought nothing more of it. You had to tweet you fave colour out of the three and where you'd wear them. I got home from work to a tweet saying I'd won!

These are high waisted and super flattering, the length is perfect for my chunky legs too! Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can dig my shorts out! You can get these shorts here.

What do you think of these shorts? What have you been buying recently?

I Fight Like Me Dad As Well

I went out on Saturday night with my cousins and friend Jess, and in honour of St Patrick's Day we danced to B*Witched! (Hence the title!) I wore my fave skirt from H&M, trusty wedges and my new MissGuided top - I could honestly buy EVERYTHING from MG right now:

Excuse my face, I'd had far too many Vodka Cherryade's and Jagerbombs by this point!
Here are my beautiful girlie's in all their finery too:
The rest of my weekend was spent getting last minute Mothers Day pressies with my boyfriend, and recovering from Saturday night's festivities at home with the family. Hope everyone had a good weekend! <3

NOTD: Pastel Frenchie

Please excuse the state of my nails, I was in a rush!
I saw an image on Pintrest of this nail art and fell in love! Its really subtle but I love it. My base colour is Models Own 'Nudest Beige' with Barry M's 'Lemon Ice Cream', 'Flamingo Pink', 'Bluberry Ice Cream' and 'Mint Green'. The purple is a Beauty UK colour that I think its just called Lilac.
What do you think?

P.S: I'm sorry for being a rubbish blogger of late, I don't really have much to post about as I'm not sure anyone cares about my OOTD's and it's hard to blog when you work 9-5! What do you want to see blog posts about?

Mini Primark Haul - Reading and V Festival Preparation!!

I know I've been harping on about going to Reading Festival FOR AGES but me and the girls decided to go and get a few essentials (a tent and clothes!) over the weekend. We headed to good ole Primark for some cheap-as-chips goodies and this is what I brought:

First off was this distressed look, stars and stripes racer back vest (£3). I love the worn look of this vest and it'll be perfect for the (hopefully) sunny August bank holiday. And at £3 if it gets ruined there it's no great loss!

Secondly I brought this mens checked shirt (£3/4) to pull on in the evenings or when we're sat around the tent. It won't be hugely warm but it's pretty much a festival must-have! I also plan to steal a few of my boyfriends shirts and hoodys for sleeping in!

I also brought a tiny cross body bag so I can store my camera and a few bits in when we're down at the stage. The stone colour is really pretty and will be ideal for nights out post-festival (if it doesn't get ruined).

And now for some none-festival related buys:

This mock McQueen was only £3 and I already have the black-with-white-skulls version so couldn't resist. Primark had these in loads of colours so I might go back for another. Great lightweight spring scarf and could double as a hair band to hide greasy festival hair?

Finally I brought these GORGEOUS colour block wedges (£16). They're so bright and vibrant I just couldn't help myself. Can't wait to wear them with a dark outfit or skinny jeans and a vest at the pub. Bring on the beer gardens!

What have you been buying this week?
P.S: If you're not already, follow me on Twitter (and come say hi!) and Pintrest

Wednesday Wishlist #6

 1/2/3/4/5

1) Holly Wiloughby Peter Pan Dress for Very.co.uk - I saw this the other day and have fallen completely in love! It's so summery and sweet! I love peter pan collars so this is just screaming out to be brought! Not loving the £49 price tag though!

2) Miss Selfridge Grey Spacedye Sweat - Oversized jumpers are my wardrobe staple and I adore this. I think this would look great with a colour-pop skater skirt or just with skinnies and my studded loafers from Toppers! At £26 it's a little bit pricey but it is payday...

3) River Island Lace Skater Dress - I've been lusting over this for ages and brought it finally for my cousins Baptism later this year. It's everything I love about dresses and I can't wait to buy it! My best friend has this in coral and another best friends' mom has it in Navy! Great minds!

4) MissGuided Odeolla Studded Heels - These Sam Eldemen copies are to die for! I'm resiting buying them, only because I know I'll step out of them! I'm between a size 2 and a 3 so shoes withour straps I fall out of! Anyone know if Missguided's shoes come up a bit small?

5) Republic Glamorous Print Playsuit - As it's leap year day, my fave shop Republic were offering delivery for 29p so as soon as the clock signaled lunch time in the office I ordered this gorge playsuit! Hoping it arrives in time for cocktails with my girls this Friday! I love the colours, print and everything!

What are you lusting after this payday?

The Power Of Twitter

I recently posted an MUA cosmetics haul and was really excited to try out the pastel purple nail polish. Unfortunatly the brush was damaged so I couldn't use it:

As a Twitter addict (@clareaevans if you wanna follow!), I tweeted the company to tell them about the damaged polish. MUA are great at getting back to their followers on Twitter and Facebook & messaged me straight away asking me to email the picture over so they could investigate.

A couple of days later and today I had a response from the lovely people at MUA saying they'd send me out a replacment nail polish! I didn't actually expect to get a replacement (or refund for that matter) I just thought they should know some of the brushes might be damaged.

So Yay for MUA!

Bye Bye Blonde!

I've been lusting after Alexa Chung/Caroline Flack dipdye hair for months so finally decided to take the plunge today! What do you think?

MUA Cosmetics Haul

I'm not one for spending lots on make-up. Mainly because I'm rubbish at doing it and can never really tell much difference. But I decided the other day to invest in a few bits and pieces MUA. In case you don't know, MUA is stocked in Superdrug stores and online with most products retailing at £1 - my kind of price!

Firstly I ordered these lipsticks. I've recently started wearing lipstick and at £1 a pop you can't go wrong! The first one I brough was Shade 14 'Bare' which is a really nice, everyday lipstick. I also brought Shade 6 which is a plummy, pink and is gorge! The lipsticks are really smooth and glide on really well - recommended!!

The next product I brought was the Professional Eye Primer (£1.50). I've never used a primer before but have read loads of peoples reviews of various makes and thought I'd give MUA's a go because it's so affordable.

I'm blessed with quite good skin (I don't get spots or blemishes just coldsores which get me down) so I never really use foundation. MUA's £2.50 foundation is the closest to my pale skin I've ever found so I'll give it a go as a base on a night out.

I have a real issue applying foundation so tips on how to do it well would be much appreciated!

Finally I just had to buy something from MUA's collaboration with Love Hearts. And as a nail polish addict LOVE U 24/7 pretty much jumped into my online basket! I love the lilac colour, perfect for summer! I'll do a NOTD when I get round to using it!

Have you brought anything from MUA before? Anything you'd recommend?

Bad, Bad Blogger!

First of huuuuge apologies for neglecting my blog this week! I have no excuse other than I'm lazy but I have a few posts lined up for next week so it's all good!

When you work 9-5, it's super hard to find time (and anything interesting!) to talk about but I promise I'll be better! :)

Wednesday Wishlist #5: Dreaming of the Sunshine!

1/2/3/4/5

As much as I've loved wearing big jumpers and lots of layers, I know desperatly want to start building my summer wardrobe! And this mini outfit is perfect for a trip to the beach (somewhere warm obviously, we have rubbish weather in England!)

1) River Island Sunglasses - I love oversized shades and these are a neutral colour so will look great with everything. They're huge so will hide a hangover if you have one too many cocktails!

2) Miss Selfridge Mocha Knot Vest - I'm desperate for this! Would look great with denim cut offs or some bright shorts. Perfect for pulling on over a bikini on holiday or layering up with cardi's in the spring.

3) Topshop Bikini - I love the floral patern and bright summery colours. It's underwirerd so gives added support and you could wear it as a bandeau top to avoid tan lines. Why is it not summer yet?!

4) Dorothy Perkins Culottes - These shorts are super super cute. Florals are looking huge for spring/summer and the bold print stands out. They're a great summer statement piece.

5) New Look Sandles - I'm obsessed with sandles and these bright orange, bead detail flip flops are perfect for when the warmer weather finally arrives. I'd paint my toe nails in a clashing colour to really make them stand out.

Greece, here I come!

NOTD: My first, rubbish attempt at nail art!

I decided to have a go at some basic nail art last night. As the weather is a bit gloomy I decided to brighten things up with some bright colours from my faves Barry M.

I used Flamingo Pink on the base which is my fave pink shade. My blackberry flash makes it look really luminous but its just a vibrant, pale pink. I added polka dots on the top using a pencil (skilled, I know!) in Lemon Ice Cream.

This is a really bright yellow and I love it but I'm not sure about it all over my stumpy nails. Maybe it'll grow on me!

Any tips on how do do pretty but easy nail art would be much appreciated! :)

The Weekend I Spent Too Much Money

First off, apologies for being rubbish this week! With graduation and my Valentines weekend away I've not had chance to blog! My boyfriend and I went to the beautiful city of Chester for an  anniversary and V-Day treat.

We went to Cheshire Oaks - a shopping heaven where even designer labels had up to 60% off - and I spent lots...

First off I got these gorgeous leather boots from New Look for £15!! I'm not sure of the original price of these but they're super soft and comfy.

Also from New Look, these black wedges. I'm useless at heels but if they've got a wedge heel and I'm strapped in I don't walk quite so awkwardly. These are high for me but they're so pretty I couldn't resist!

I picked up this nude, angora knit jumper for £10 (reduced from £50 at Cheshire Oaks!!) from Warehouse and it's the softest jumper I own. The 3/4 sleeves have beaded detail on and help make it a little bit more dressy.

I've been after a pleather, skater skirt for ages and this pleated one from H&M is perfect. I'd seen it on a few blogs but as H&M's website is RUBBISH it wasn't on there so I thought I'd missed the boat. Glad I snapped it up though!

Finally I brought this Beatles vest with cut off sleeves from H&M too. I love the cut and style of the vest, you'd pay a lot more than a fiver for same thing in Urban Outfitters!

Has anyone else ever been to Cheshire Oaks? What have you been buying this weekend?

Wednesday Wishlist #4

1/2/3/4/5/6

This weeks wishlist is full of statement pieces and I love every one!

1) These Mui Mui earrings are fully amazing, they would make even the most boring outfit look amazing. There's no way I could afford these but they're beautiful to look at. I love the lightning bolt detail.

2) This New Look maxi skirt is stunning, and perfect for summer. At 5ft 2" I think I'm to short too pull off the maxi trend but if I could if go for this...especially with the tops in the list!

3) A good wedge is every girls wardrobe essential and these coral coloured ones from Dorothy Perkins are to die for. The colour is so on trend for spring/summer and they come in a mint colour too - spoilt for choice!

4) This Mixi dress from Topshop is stunning, the colour is gorge! Would look amazing with a tan and some killer heels...someone buy for me!?

5) Another Topshop choice, these stripe shirt is amazing! Can dress it up or down, for work, play or a night out. Seriously NEED!

6) Finally this River Island vest, I don't think words are needed. I love Maroon 5 - we even have a routine to this track at Zumba! - perfect summer tee!

What do you think of these choices?

Graduation Baby!

Loved graduating yesterday with my beautiful girls <3

Summer Lovin'

1/2/3/4

With the weather being cold, miserable and oh so snowy, I cheered myself up with a spot of summer shopping. There really is nothing better than planning our summer wardrobe when its snowing outside!

This River Island bikini is perfect for s/s 12 - its colourful and combines pastels and brights. Bandeau bikinis also mean no strap marks - winner! These New Look 'Americana' shorts are lush, I've been after a pair for ages & these are perfect - they don't have my size online though! Gutted!

I love a good sandle and this pair from Republic will look gorge dressed down with a bikini and shorts, as well as dressed up with a dress like this Topshop number. One shoulder to show off a tan and so on trend with prints and in Orange. I'm in heaven!
What are you doing to cheer yourselves up this winter? What are your summer wardbrobe essentials?

Winter Wonderland?

Like most of England right now, my road is covered in a blanket of snow. Which is bad new for me as I've already spent the whole week suffering with chilblaines. This was the view out of my front door yesterday:

We went to my nans for dinner today so I at least got to give my Hunters a test drive before Reading Festival. They're litterally worth every penny! I didn't slip once and my toes stayed nice and warm!

I teamed them with my new Grandad cardi from peacocks, faithful stripey tee and a beanie - winter essentials! I like this H&M tee but horizontal stripes are the most unflattering thing on my figure ever!

Is anyone enjoying the snow? Or are you glad, like me, to see the back of it?!
